Krasnoyarsk State Medical University has intensively developed international relations, having 19 agreements on collaboration with foreign
universities and scientific centres of Japan, Australia, the USA, South Korea and European countries. The concept of development of KrasSMU's
international activity is based on understanding the fact that receiving qualitative education means mastering world level knowledge and specialist's
growth (doctor, teacher, scientist) is only possible thanks to constant information exchange with foreign colleagues, active participation in joint
projects and free possession of world informative resources.
At present International collaboration of our institution is successfully developing in the following directions: raising the quality of higher
and post-graduate medical education, integrative neurosciences, cellular biology and biopolymers, integrative anthropology, cardiology and cardio
genetics, medical information science, pediatrics, endoscopy, orthopedics, dentistry, traditional medicine, organization of health service system,
nursing, microbiology, hygiene.
Every year up to 12 students take part in international exchange programmes, up to six lecturers exchange for having probations for specified
purposes and delivering lectures, up to 35 delegations are sent abroad for participation in international conferences, up to ten international
forums are held in Krasnoyarsk. At present more than 20 students from the CIS countries study at KrasSMU and the further work on widening the
educational service export is being going on.
A long-term programme of additional language teaching of students, post-graduates and lecturers of KrasSMU (up to 40 people annually) is being
carried out; there are specialized groups for English and Japanese studies. Since 1994 the students are offered classes in pathophysiology in English
and since 2004 - in molecular medicine.
The significant component of KrasSMU international activity is realization of international projects supported by Russian and foreign grants. The
Grants and programmes department of KrasSMU was established in 2005 for providing students and lecturers' activity coordination in the field of
registration of educational and research projects for receiving financial support for foundations, professional societies and other grant keepers.
The Grants and programmes department of KrasSMU organizes the system of competition information search, secures cooperation in preparation projects
taking into consideration all the modern technologies, provides consultation accompaniment of applications and reports, coordinates the work of the
university subdivisions on the realization of programmes and projects supported with grants.
The certified office of the European project SITE works on the basis of KrasSMU. Electronic database of grant keepers who finance projects in the
field of higher education and medicine has been created and is regularly upgraded. It is available for coworkers of the academy. Regular teaching
inner seminars are held for grant managers of the departments. Since 2007 the training of post-graduate students on grant writing is being performed.
The KrasSMU coworkers take an active part in the work of grant forming organizations such as RFFR, RF President's Grant Council, FCSTP, RSSF, JSPS,
DAAD, SITE, INTAS, CNRS, Alliance Francaise, etc.
